The UK approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine on December 2nd, becoming the first country in the western world to do so. Britain’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory
Agency (MHRA) granted approval to the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine for emergency use and it is set to start reaching the most vulnerable people in the UK next week.
Pfizer, being a pioneer in many such effective interventions, estimates the vaccine to have a 95% chance of prevention. The country has ordered enough doses to vaccinate
20 million people — after weeks of rising cases, this has sparked a ray of hope in the people of Britain, making them feel like things will go back to normal again.
