Flight tracking is an optional feature of Voyage Manager that enhances traveller tracking further by going beyond itinerary information, and provides additional insight into the progress of trips.
Flight Status Tracking
Flight status tracking lets users monitor the status of commercial flights in real-time. It sources data from FlightAware to provide gate departure and arrival times, as well as details of take-offs and landings.
If this feature is enabled, Voyage Manager will automatically mark travellers as having arrived once their aircraft reaches the arrival gate. This does away with the requirement for them to check in with the system to confirm their arrival.
Flight Location Tracking
Flight location tracking monitors the current location of aircraft during a flight. This lets Voyage Manager display aircraft locations more accurately on the admin console map, and provide estimates of the remaining time to destination for each traveller.
