TRAVEL TRACKING

Travel Tracking

WHAT TYPES OF TRAVEL TRACKERS ARE THERE?

There are 3 types of travel tracking systems currently on the market:
  • Passive
  • Active
  • Automated
Passive Travel Trackers are basic systems with very limited functionality. These systems only allow users to view the assumed locations of travellers based on the travellers' itineraries that are stored on the booking systems(GDSs). Providers of passive travel trackers include travel agents and travel security companies.

Active Travel Trackers are trackers that continuously manage trips. They typically require a lot of manpower, as the companies running them have teams of people managing the trips. Providers of active travel trackers include security companies.

Automated Travel Trackers are partially or completely automated systems. They will retrieve and monitor trips with minimal or no human interaction, making them more efficient and accurate than other travel trackers.
